First Bethel’s finance committee is responsible for developing an annual budget to support the church’s ministries. They also make sure that a plan is in place to raise sufficient funds to meet the budget, and they administer those funds according to the budget.
While First Bethel (or any church for that matter) is like a business in that it deals with the incoming and outgoing flow of finances, it is also unlike a business in that its finances are used to support the mission of the church—a mission that can’t be measured in dollars and cents.
The finance committee knows that they are dealing with more than line items. Instead, they are entrusted with the offerings of people of faith in order to transform lives. Like Jesus’ miracle of multiplying loaves and fish to feed thousands of people, we believe that, with God’s blessing, the money we give to support First Bethel’s ministries can feed the spiritual hunger of many more people than we could imagine.
