First Bethel United Methodist Church
Lay Leadership Committee

Have a spiritual gift? A passion for a particular area of ministry? Then the lay leadership committee may find a place for you to serve!

The lay leadership committee is a group of church members whose job it is to identify, develop, deploy, evaluate, and monitor the spiritual leadership at First Bethel. While keeping in mind the church’s mission, the lay leadership committee draws upon people from the congregation to serve as leaders who have the spiritual gifts to bring that mission to fruition. If a spot becomes available on a ministry team, for example, it is the lay leadership committee’s task to fill the open spot with someone who has the spiritual giftedness and willingness to help lead that ministry.

Without leaders who are empowered by God to lead ministries, the church would have a very difficult time working towards its mission. That’s why the lay leadership committee’s efforts in identifying those leaders are so important—and rewarding!
