First Bethel United Methodist Church
Covenant Groups

Ever since the small group “class meetings” of early Methodism, covenant groups have been a foundational element of the Methodist heritage. A covenant is when two or more people enter into and commit themselves to a continuing relationship. At First Bethel, covenants act as a support network where each member makes a commitment to the group.

Sharing life’s challenges and concerns in a supportive, nurturing environment is a key focus of a covenant. Group discussions concentrate on spiritual and emotional development and dealing with life’s challenges, as well as life’s rewards. Groups hold each other accountable to classic disciplines such as prayer and scripture reading, while also exploring new ways to grow in their faith.

Built on strong relationships and commitments, a covenant group at First Bethel may be what you need if you have come to the point in your life where you think to yourself, “I’m stuck…now what?”
