The United Methodist Men meet informally once a month at a continental breakfast to plan community service projects, fundraising activities, and a variety of church improvements. New members are always welcome to join in the discussion and fellowship.
In addition to the many service projects in and around First Bethel, the United Methodist Men host an annual Barbershop Concert to raise funds for Appalachia Service Project and Mission of Peace. A bi-annual used tool and sporting goods sale takes place in the spring as another fundraising activity.
Previous projects have included weekend work retreats to the beautiful Olmsted Manor Retreat Center in Ludlow, PA. Located in Northwestern Pennsylvania, Olmsted Manor provides a spiritual setting with Christian hospitality. The United Methodist Men have contributed their time and efforts to many improvements including deck refurbishing, tree planting, and the clearing of hiking and walking trails. Hard work is good for the soul!
