Several times a year, volunteers from First Bethel travel to New Hope United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh’s West End to participate in their Congregate Meal Program. This ministry serves 150 to 300 people three times a week and is supported by congregations of various denominations. Under the direction of Clara Baehr, coordinator for over twenty years, meals are served to the homeless and those who are in rehabilitation programs. From the broad smiles and full hearts of those who serve the food and sweep the floors, it is clear to see that there is joy in serving God!
