When First Bethel’s quilters gather to work on a project, they are doing more than stitching fabric together—they are participating in a powerful prayer ministry.
Quilts are made for those in the congregation and beyond who are in special need of prayer. Upon completion, the quilts are consecrated during worship and then delivered. Members of the congregation tie a knot on strings attached to each quilt as a symbol of their prayer for the recipient. Each knot is a prayer. Those who receive the quilts know they are not just being covered by its warmth—they are also being surrounded by the prayers of a loving community of faith.
