First Bethel United Methodist Church
Sandra Marsh-McClain, Lead Pastor

Hello!

Thank you for visiting the First Bethel Church web site. Every day I am amazed with the new technology available to us. It is my hope that this web site is the "gateway" to exploring our family of faith. Nothing can take the place of a face-to-face, first-hand encounter with a church family; however, this site provides a fantastic introduction to the First Bethel faith community. In addition, the site provides current, up-to-date information resources for those visiting the site.

I will echo Rev. Austin Hornyak in saying it is a joy to be in ministry at First Bethel. I had the honor and privilege of being appointed here in July of 2006. Every day I am amazed at the ministry and giftedness of this church family. The range of ministry opportunities and programs continues to touch and inspire me. There is simply something for everyone.

As I write this "intro" page, I find it very difficult to be precise and yet all inclusive of the opportunities at First Bethel. Part of the reason for that difficulty is: although we have ministries and programs to which we give our support year in and year out - this church family is very intentional about staying current and meeting needs as they come to our attention. Each year the leadership gathers for a time of planning and visioning to meet the needs of our community, country, and world. It is inspiring to watch the people of First Bethel respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. It is humbling to watch this family of faith respond with the gifts of their time and talents.

To those of you who are already a part of the First Bethel Church family - enjoy the site and make sure you check out the information periodically so that you can stay abreast of all we are doing in the name of Jesus Christ.

To those of you who are "exploring" - welcome! Please receive this sincere invitation to come and "check us out in person" If there is any information you need that cannot be found on the site, Rev. Hornyak and I would love to visit with you. Please give us a call at 412-835-0700 or attend one of our worship services, and an usher will be sure to connect us. Again, thank you for the visit and we hope to "see" you again soon.

Peace to you,

Sandra
